I drove linehaul for Overnite Transportation for eight years and logged a million miles without an accident. That fact matters more to this practice than anything else on my resume. Before I ever negotiated a rate, I ran the lanes. I know what a dock looks like at two in the morning, what a badly built schedule does to a driver, and why a network that looks efficient in a spreadsheet comes apart in practice. Years later, when I sat in pricing meetings deciding what a lane was worth, I had actually driven it.
Overnite Transportation
One million accident-free miles. Eight years learning the network from inside the cab.
Viking Freight, then Daylight Transport
Recruited off the road into sales and operations. Ran the dock and carried the number — both halves of the business, learned from the freight up rather than from a classroom down. Very few people in this industry have done both jobs.
FedEx Services
Led a team of 21 regional sales associates, then managed a global territory valued at $1.2B in strategic accounts including GE, Siemens, Textron, Kimberly-Clark, and Procter & Gamble. First Global Account Manager to sell every FedEx mode — parcel, ground, supply chain, and LTL.
XPO Logistics
Led strategy across a $750M portfolio and closed $52M in new business. Then asked for an operating role: a $600M region with full P&L accountability across Georgia, Florida, Alabama, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Puerto Rico. 2,400 employees. The region was underperforming when I took it — EBITDA improved 18% year over year, operating costs fell 14%, the operating ratio moved 4.5 basis points, and we opened a new port-based facility in Puerto Rico. The number I'm most proud of is that turnover dropped 68%.
AFS Logistics
Led LTL and parcel strategy, TMS modernization, and operations transformation. Launched a new volume LTL program and designed carrier linehaul strategies.
Xpress Global Systems
Built the national retail and commercial sales function from scratch across a forty-facility network. Developed a $35M+ pipeline, closed $12M in new 3PL business, and grew top-account revenue 47% in a single year.
Zaar Consultants
Recruited to build, organize, and train the sales team and go-to-market plan across LTL, brokerage, and warehousing verticals, leading sixteen sales managers.
Keith Street Advisory
Transportation and supply chain consulting, and executive leadership development, for mid-market companies.
The first was watching shippers sign agreements they didn't fully understand. Not because they weren't smart — because carrier pricing is genuinely opaque, and the information asymmetry is enormous. I was on the side that benefited from it. I know precisely where the money is, and I'd rather help find it than keep collecting it.
The second was watching good people get promoted into leadership with no preparation and no support, then get judged for struggling. I did that to people early in my career, before I knew better. Building leaders turned out to be the most durable thing I did in any role I held — the revenue numbers reset every January, but the people I developed are still running organizations.
Keith Street Advisory exists to do both of those things for companies that can't hire a Big Four firm and shouldn't have to.
I attended the University of Georgia on a baseball scholarship, studying History, and continued at Middle Georgia. I'm based in Atlanta.
The first conversation is free and it isn't a sales call.
